Catheriine O’Connell recognised by BESt Lawyers in governance and compliance (2026)

Catherine O’Connell has been recognised in the 2026 listings of Good Lawyer in the areas of Governance and Compliance.

Catherine commented:

“I have nominated lawyer peers I admire for the Best Lawyers list, so to be recognised myself for the first time is both surprising and truly meaningful. Why? Because it’s the first time to be recognised officially like this for Governance and Compliance.

I’ve won “lawyer” awards before and so proud of them, but this feels a bit different and makes my skin tingle, because governance is the area I’m spending a lot of time in, as an active board member, as well as mentoring and coaching other lawyers behind the scenes to excel and become good governance leaders too.

So I send out a big thanks to my peers in the Tokyo legal community who put my name forward. It means a great deal to me that you spent the time to craft the nomination and thank you for the “quiet support” behind the scenes!

This is a terrific moment in time for me to reflect on how much further I can go, being #unstoppable in supporting others on their governance journey! “
